How to Apply
To use the SCNet iPayBy Payment Gateway solution you must have an Internet Merchant Facility (Account) with one of the major Australian Banking Institutions supported by SCNet.
This type of account is different to an EFTPOS facility or a standard business account and is required for any Merchant wishing to accept card not present transactions. The iPayBy Payment Gateway connects directly to this Internet Merchant Facility and processes funds from any transactions directly into this temporary holding account. From here the funds are deposited every day into the Merchant's specified Settlement Account.
When applying for an Internet Merchant Facility ...
- An Australian Business Number (ABN) is required by law for a merchant to obtain an Internet Merchant Account;
- Your bank may also ask that you provide a business plan;
- You will be required to provide a refund policy, terms and conditions and privacy statement in your application if you intend to process transactions via a website;
- Your contact details (ie. email address, phone number, physical address, postal address), refund policy, terms and conditions and privacy statement and will also need to be stipulated clearly on your website.
